AboutMy name is Susan Williams.
I am a fully qualified BAPT registered Play Therapist® with a masters degree in Play Therapy from the University of Roehampton. Prior to qualifying as a Play Therapist I predominantly worked within educational environments with young children and adolescents. Having worked within several primary schools in South London as a Play Therapist I understand the demands placed upon educators and the diverse needs of the children they care for. I have fostered strong relationships with the organisations I have worked with and I have received excellent feedback for my work with parents and children. The client groups I have worked with are varied and have included children with attachment issues and who have experienced family breakdown, children with cognitive and physical disabilities, children who have witnessed domestic violence and who have experienced neglect and abuse. For those clients who have been adopted I offer a blend of play therapy and therapeutic life story work. Additionally I work for the British Association of Play Therapists on a voluntary basis as a member of their Public Relations and Communications team. I am a full member of the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) and adhere to their ethical guidelines. I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate and professional insurance. |
